There are currently reports of a recent Dengue Fever outbreaks across Brazil. The outbreaks have occurred in the northeast, central, south and southeast regions of the country and in total amount to over 1000 confirmed cases.
Dengue Fever Outbreak – Brazil
Dengue Fever is spread by mosquitos, usually during the daytime. There is currently no vaccination or preventable medication for Dengue Fever and travellers are advised to practice mosquito avoidance measures such as using DEET 50% insect repellant, covering up exposed skin with long trousers and shirt sleeves, sleeping under a mosquito net and burning mosquito coils.
